Monday morning and I love breakfast!
Topic: FOOD

It's Monday morning and like the title states "I love breakfast!"

Everymorning I make coffee, hot and dark "CDM" or "Community New Orleans Blend". Most every morning

I fix Mary's breakfast and then mine. I love eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, grits, biscuits, gravy....but it's not healthy for me

to have them all the time. So, lots of time it's granola, rasin brand, whole wheat bread and fruit and I pretend to be eating

what I really like. My favorite food blog "Homesick Texan" made me think about all of this, this morning.

Hope you had a great breakfast!

Old Country Store in Lorman, Mississippi
Topic: FOOD

On our weekly trip to St Francisville, Louisiana, we had the opportunity

to travel down Hwy 61 in Mississippi. Between Vicksburg and Natchez

there is a lovely little stop for the "World's Greates Fried Chicken" at

the Old Country Store in Loreman, Mississippi. You've got to know about

this place by "word of mouth" or if you watched "Feasting on Asphalt II"

on the Food Network. We got there at 11:00 AM and we were hungry

and not dissappointed. Great food, great chicken, and a great owner, Mr D.

If you are traveling down Hwy 61 in Mississippi, plan to stop for lunch

at the Old Country Store, you won't be dissappointed.

We can't wait for our next visit!

LOUIE MUELLER BBQ
Topic: FOOD
While watching one of my favorite "food" shows, "Diners, Drive-Ins and
Dives", I got to see about Louie Mueller BBQ in Taylor, Texas.  I need some
of his bar-b-que.  I can almost taste it.  Just got to figure out a reason to
head out towards Austin, Texas and stop in Taylor on the way.  Let me know
if you get the chance.  No matter what, stop by his web site, it's one cool site.
